Smeg Cooking Theatre

Combining Technology with style, Smeg will once again bring the cooking theatre with celebrity chefs and cooks using Smeg appliances to add zest to the Auckland Home Show. Led by former MasterChef judge Simon Gault, this year’s chefs will use Smeg appliances to demonstrate their love of cooking and how Smeg appliances can add that little bit extra to make your meals as wonderful as you want them to be. Simon Gault and his sous-chef Rob will be cooking some tasty treats with many dishes having an Italian-inspired theme.

The Smeg Cooking Theatre features Smeg appliances with leading technology including combination steam ovens, combination microwave ovens, pyrolytic ovens and induction hobs. Not only that, but the new Smeg small appliances will be making short work of soups, dips and sauces throughout the show.

This year the Smeg Cooking Theatre will feature a combination of showcase events from famous chefs – including Simon himself – and will also host a number of technology classes to highlight how the technology in today’s appliances is so intuitive anyone can use it to bring out the best in any meal they cook.

Latest Smeg appliances

Following the successful Eurocucina International Design Fair in Milan for Smeg Italy in April, the Jones Family Business is pleased to be showcasing some of the 2017 models at the Auckland Home Show for the first time in New Zealand.

Included in the latest range is a complete new series, Dolce Stil Novo Series, designed to complement the already popular Classic, Linea, Retro and Victoria Series. The Dolce Stil Novo range is characterised by an even, monochromatic surface, enhanced by refined details – such as copper or stainless steel trims. The new range showcases some of the features that will be available across the different series, including a 45cm built-in wine cooler and a 15cm sommelier drawer for the wine connoisseur.

In addition to the new series, Smeg highlights include additional accessories to the ever-growing popularity of the Smeg small domestic appliance range of kettles, toasters, blenders and stand mixers, a complete new range of Smeg dishwashers, a new freestanding cooker format featuring a bright coloured matching Portofino cooker and hood selection, along with its latest laundry release.

Be inspired by Designer Kitchens

Every year, the Jones Family Business (Applico – Stand 460 in Hall 4) work with the New Zealand design community to develop the latest in kitchen chic. This year, they are featuring five distinct kitchens to provide inspiration to their customers, including three designed by top New Zealand kitchen designers: Rebecca Banks of Inside Vision, John van Doormaal of Innovative Kitchens and Sarah Burrows of Sarah Burrows Design.

Rebecca Banks’s contemporary kitchen highlights Smeg’s timeless range of Classic products, including the new stainless steel pyrolytic ovens with jet black glass and accompanied by a black glass modern induction cooktop.

The clean lines of John van Doormaal’s kitchen showcases the Smeg Linea range of appliances. The appliances stand out with a stylish white appearance offset by vibrant colours that really bring this kitchen to life.
