Garden Pine Design

Garden Pine Design creates cape cod chairs, tables and footrests from our premises in Mt Wellington. Radiata Pine provides Garden Pine Design Chairs with a reliable consistent supply of quality timber from a renewable resource. Our timber comes from the pruned base of the tree and so is the oldest, strongest and knot free part of the tree. Pine has many advantages as well as being sustainably grown it's easy to work with, absorbs painting and staining systems well. Our pine is treated to H3.1 standard. We only use 304 grade stainless steel screws for assembly which are provided in our kitsets.

Traditional Cape Cod chairs or Adirondack chairs as they are also known are made of wood and have a curved and fanned back, a contoured seat and arms that are generously wide and flat. The real comfort of the Cape Cod or Adirondack chair comes from the angles – of the seat to the back, and the legs to the seat. The chair has a deep seat and slanting back and can be paired with a footrest for true lounging comfort.
