Renovations

If you’re in the market for some reno work before summer – then we’ve got the ideas and inspiration for you!

Kiwis love their homes.  We love selling them, we love buying them and above all we love to personalise and hopefully add value to them thanks to some renovation work.  Now that Spring has arrived, it’s time to start getting those renovations underway so you’ll be ready to take advantage of a (what’ll hopefully be) a long, hot kiwi summer!

Renovation 1 – The Backyard

Decking, BBQ’s, outdoor furniture, shade solutions, landscaping trends and products are all available and ready for your inspection at the Auckland Home Show.  Come and see Auckland’s top suppliers all under one roof and ask the landscaping experts at the Outdoor Ideas (Hall 8) area all your curly landscaping questions. John Weatherley of Sunvue and Paul Gallagher, Landscape Architect at Mace Landscapes are also hosting FREE Seminars as part of the Design, Renovate and Decorate Series, sponsored by Resene throughout the show where they’ll be discussing the latest trends in landscaping and outdoor living areas.

Renovation 2 – The Kitchen

The key to how the rest of the home functions, the kitchen can be as big or small a renovation as you want it to be.  If a full reno is on the cards, then come and get some ideas and inspiration from some of New Zealand’s leading design experts at the show; including John Van Doormal of Innovative Kitchens and Paul Collins of Kitchen Studio, both of whom are holding FREE Seminars in which they’ll answer all your queries and give you the insights you need to ensure your kitchen reno is a success.  Don’t forget to check out the three designer kitchens that have been curated especially for the Auckland Home Show as part of the Jones Family Business stand (Hall 3/4).

Renovation 3 – The Bathroom

Kevin Cox, Bathroom Designer and Sean Patterson of SA Plumbing together will be sharing their extensive knowledge and expertise in brilliant bathroom design as part of the Design, Renovate and Decorate Series, sponsored by Resene.  Current bathroom trends feature a return to a more organic, tactile, and darkly classic style of design; though if this is not your cup of tea, check out all the options and innovations on offer from some of New Zealand’s leading bathroom suppliers at the show.

Renovation 4 – Adding a Room

Before you head into demo mode, make sure you come and chat with the experts at the Ask the Building and Renovation Experts (Hall 2) and potentially save yourself thousands in the process.  Murray Kee of Finesse Residential is an icon of the building industry and worth listening to at the Design, Renovate and Decorate Series, sponsored by Resene as well as Jon Illiffe and Baden Brown of eHaus who’ll be discussing key PassivHaus principles and how they translate in making your home both comfortable and healthy all year round.
